Finally: an
event to help citizens of South Florida "BE PREPARED" to deal with the
hurricane season and its many challenges. This new, two-day
consumer show and conference, The South Florida Hurricane Expo, will be
held at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in downtown West Palm
Beach on Saturday, April 29 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday, April
30 from noon to 5 p.m.
The South
Florida Hurricane Expo will feature hurricane protection products and
services including shutter systems, hurricane screens, fabric panels,
impact-resistant windows, water and mold remediation, broken glass
stabilizers, roofing, insurance litigation and specialty doors. There
also will be numerous exhibits displaying hurricane storm related
products including survival kits, air and water systems, rental tools,
cooking aids, and power systems including generators and compressors.
The seminar
program will feature more than 25 presentations providing attendees
with information on how to better prepare for the safety and protection
of their homes, families, pets and property. Emergency Management
organizations such as the American Red Cross, United Way, Palm Beach
County Extension Office, FEMA, NOAA, along with many other
organizations, will be providing information and solutions for what is
forecasted to be a busy storm season.
The Expo is
sponsored by our area's NBC affiliate WPTV5, the International
Hurricane Protection Association and Hurricane Protection magazine.
